Iceland Spar for SaleIceland Spar (also called Rhombus or Rhomboid or Optical Calcite) is an extremely pure form of Calcite which is transparent and displays double refraction. This means that anything viewed through a sample appears doubled. Iceland Spar also exhibits perfect rhombohedral cleavage which means that, when a piece is broken, it will usually break into the same rhombus shape as the larger original piece.
