Markings will vary considerably as these abalone shells are commercial grade and have natural imperfections. The larger the shell, the older it is, and there will be more imperfections from aging and living in the oceans. The interiors are highly iridescent with colorful blues, greens and silver, as well as various black markings.
These abalone shells are ideal containers for burning loose sages and cedar, or cone and resin incense. They are also great for keeping your sage and cedar smudge sticks in when the stick is lit but you are not holding it.
If using Charcoal Tablets, put an inch of sand in the bottom of the shell to prevent the shell from getting too hot and burning you or the surface under the shell.
